NY solar tax credits & incentives

When you install solar in New York, you may qualify for these cost savings:

Federal tax credit for 30% of the cost. You’ll get this credit if you buy your system or get a loan (not lease). This credit is available through 2032.
Solar equipment tax credit for 25% of qualified solar energy system equipment costs up to $5000.
NY property tax exemption. Solar panels can raise your property value and taxes. Get 100% exemption from added property tax for 15 years.
Sales tax exemption. Solar energy systems are 100% exempt from NY sales tax except in Mt Vernon, White Plains, New Rochelle and Yonkers.
